hello:)
this week. chao tired. art now is a bit scary cos you never really know if you will be kicked out esp with the new intake. and oh man 5b, i really hope we never have to split up or have pple leave us. everyone out there. haiii i know 5b is only like the most awesome, enthu, happy, interesting, fun, not-mugger, cool, lame, nice, ownage class around, but doesn't mean you have to come and change combi just to join us leh! hahahaha
on another thing, today was jump. started out bit aiyah why so stupid agree to do deco then got to awake up go prep stuff. but in the end really had fun doing it. simple but it was cool altogther. united 93. that was the plane that was hijacked on 911 but did not make it to its destination the white house. so the youth worship room was made to look like the interior of an airplane complete with doreen the sia girl pushing a trolley givin out peanuts and juice. jump usually is a follow up to the previous day's yf. but somehow it always speaks out more to me than friday. even though doing the deco i roughly know what to expect not exactly "surprise" anymore but still when we go tru the thing and watched that video of united 93 and really think how much we should tell people, our close ones how much we love them because we never know when our lives can end like that.
if we are on a plane that has been hijacked. everyone is going crazy, crying, praying hard, calling their loved ones to say "i love you, goodbye"... just imagine. all the regrets. the film we watched is about a quarter of the whole film, but it was enough to make that impact. its true we are still the conservative traditional asians. we don't go up to our parents and go i love you and hug them. we have this annoyingly huge ego and pride that makes us not even consider the possibility of doing that. we don't say i love you, don't hug, don't say i miss you, sometimes we don't even say thank you. basically, don't let that moment ever come where the one regret you have was never having told them you love them.
we were given time to write a letter to our parents or our family telling them anything at all. esp how much we love them. write out what we have to say so that we will not regret not saying. i think its true like how sometimes we cannot bring ourselves to say things and we have to write them instead. i've actually always had this fear that what i write will be used against me one day. now i have a letter in an envelope in my bag addressed to my mum. before i sleep tonight i will pass it to her and pray hard she takes it in a good way.
you know how pple often use the analogy of you in the car then you get out and before you shut the door quickly shout i love you to your parent then walk away and they will prob stay there stun for a while? i really donno how a lot of our parents will react to such a thing and to the letter i wrote. and i think fear holds us back a lot. but today moved me enough to cry as i write that letter, and probably did a few other people. this might be the one stupid thing i am going to do that is way against the logic i have. but perhaps its the maturity and the love God has given us to love other people.
20Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. 21Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.
Col 3:20-21 [ yesterday's yf was on this ]
but besides the letter, we need to apply this more in our lives. when we go home who do we greet first? our family or our computer? when we go out who do we say bye to? what is the last thing we said to our family? did we even say good bye properly? when we are angry, who do we show it against? when we quarel, do we bother to say sorry when we cool down?
i have in fact been conscienciously being nice, not purposely being sacastic, condescending and even saying a lot of thank yous to my family these few days and i think its some great timing that yf and jump had this topic this week. thank you coaches:) gd job
anyhow think there should be pictures! esp that of the windows and the seats? will post when i get them. if you have, please send!
also, there is this cafe called liquid near maybank near beauty world? its ex but whoaaa nice. mocha mint crush = good. desperate times call for desperate measures.
and march hols! 14th march wednesday, yf, there is an outing to sentosa!!! sign up and go have a day of fellowship:) lotsa cool stuff being planned for yall!
